12/6/2023 0 Comments Hiveswap act 2 trailerTakes up far too much time compared to the other sections, making them appear undercooked by comparison. I definitely agree the trial overstayed its welcome and could have been trimmed. It kinda felt like the beginning effectively restarted itself twice over and the first few areas visited were under utilized. Seems like most of the work went into the train sequences. I do feel the beginning was a little lacking. The bee mini-game I found relatively easy once I figured out what I was supposed to do, but I can see why others would find it troublesome. I don't doubt other people have run into their fair share, but without more info I can't really say much on the subject. Once or twice I almost thought I did, but it turned out to be a false alarm. Personally, I did not run into any bugs of note. It was fun to play and I was excited, but it kinda left me somewhat sad about the end result cause it feels somewhat rushed. You guys got any other words about this? Don't think of this as hate, I loved Act 2. I liked seeing them ingame with personality but they are just there, with no plot sense and no forward development. > Most of the Call Trolls that have no importance to the plot or progression feel somewhat poorly placed in with no real development and are just there really. > The Bee Minigame is unresponsive as all hell and I heard they removed it cause even people had issues doing it, showing it was not playtested properly. Like it's obvious the train lobby was gonna be the "Meet the cast" area and the train was the transition where you'd learn more about them but that was pushed back greatly. > The areas seen in concept art look very pushed back. I was afraid to even tab out because I was worried of losing progress. I liked the idea but it was poor in execution due to how easy it was to break aswell. > The trial takes up half the act, like they needed something to pad it out. But looks nice overall but it's just eh, Act 1 had fully animated in smaller scenes, while this is sorta ya know. > Some of the Cutscenes are very still and seem lazy, like they ran out of budget and made it an slideshow. > I appreciate the puzzles but it's kinda a chore and not fun when it's constant back and forth. Like an scene of them travelling to the Trainyard in the Forest to show the dangerous trees. > Multiple story scenes were cut from the trailer, even some transition stuff that would make sense. > Not much combat happens, only really 1 Strife section. > it feels kinda buggy, the game softlocks very easily even. The train section is very iffy with this. > The levels were scailed back from what they planned and look nice but if you look closely, Joey / Xefros is hovering and is weird with scailing. The Ticket troll was cut aswell, only making an non-interactable cameo in the beginning at the Diner but I can see why. Idk why they were cut, my guess is as good as yours. Same with Zebede, his neighbor who owned the empty farm. > 2 Call Trolls were removed before launch.Ĭharun was cut, the cave was ment as his home. I mean, it's obvious how much stuff was cut from this.įrom analyzing Concept Art and the Trailers
